School of Music faculty will explore works to be performed at Lincoln Center in April 2013 from various perspectives. Students are encouraged to listen to the works before the convocation.  A library guide with recordings and program notes is available here:  http://www.ithacalibrary.com/sp/subjects/music_convocation

School of Music Convocations are designed to bring together all music majors at Ithaca College and attendance is required. Students must pick up their recital attendance cards in the music office before the convocation, as the card will require a punch for this event.

Keeping IC Safe

Contributed by LeBron Rankins on 09/04/12

One of the ways we can all work together to keep IC safe is being able to recognize someone in emotional distress, respond in a helpful manner and refer that person to someone able to help.  With this being National Suicide Prevention Week, a Pathways training has been scheduled and is open to all members of the campus community.

Pathways is a crisis intervention and suicide prevention training provided to the campus community by Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).  You are invited to participate in an hour-long training Thursday, September 6, 2012, at 6pm in Textor 101.  Advanced registration is not required.

About Pathways, one student said: "I was a little uncomfortable at first but [the trainer] made it more comfortable for me. By the end, I was glad that I came because now I know how to help a friend in need."
