If you plan to submit a proposal in the coming semester, please familiarize yourself with the  Grants and Sponsored Projects website as well as the routing process that includes submitting an Intent to Submit Form  6-8 weeks before you plan to submit your proposal and completing an Accelerated Routing Form 2 weeks before your submittal.  The process is required to ensure campus approvals are in place for your proposal.

Meg Musnicki '05 walked onto the Ithaca College rowing team in 2003.  Now she has an Olympic gold medal after rowing in the USA's women's 8 in London.  Are you next?  All IC students, men and women, are invited to the crew informational meeting on Tuesday, August 28, in Textor 102.  The women will meet at 6pm.  The men meet at 7pm.  No previous rowing experience is necessary.

Born This Way: The Documentary (film begins at 7 pm)
Follow Ithaca College's three a cappella groups recording Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' to raise money for the Born This Way Foundation and The Ali Forney Center. While chronicling the process of the groups recording and performing the song, the film also highlights a few of the members' personal stories of bullying due to their sexual identity. This event will include refreshments and an opportunity to meet the LGBT Center program director, student staff, and student leaders of our four LGBT-themed student organizations and our three a cappella singing groups.

A new release of the Optical Scanning software has been installed and some changes have been made to the scanning procedures. These changes will provide a greater level of security for exam reports and allow for a higher level of efficiency for Computer Operations. The following summarizes the changes and the ITS Optical Scanning Website has been updated to reflect the changes. Information about the Optical Scanning integration with Sakai is also available within Sakai on your school's Optical Scanning tab.

Patricia R. Zimmermann, professor of screen studies and codirector of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival, lectured and facilitated a discussion on the current independent narrative film Bernie (Richard Linklater, 2012) for the Cinemark Theater corporation in Houston, Texas on August 2.

Designed for older adults and the general public, Zimmermann’s presentation situated the film as part of the “third coast” of film and new media emerging in Texas through tax incentives and the efforts of the state film commission. She also analyzed how the film reflects regional independent film, with an emphasis on landscape, characters, fractured narrative form, and ideological reversals.

 

Meditation for Anyone

Beginning Wednesday, August 29th there will be informal meditation in Muller Chapel every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 to 8:30 a.m for the Fall semester.

The sessions are open to all levels, beginners through adepts. Instruction is available.

Come join us for our Welcome Mass this Sunday at 8:00 PM in Muller Chapel.  The Ithaca College Catholic Community welcomes all students, faculty and staff back to campus.  Everyone at IC, but especially the Class of 2016, is invited and encouraged to celebrate our first Sunday Mass of the academic year – 8::00 PM this Sunday, Muller Chapel!
