Ellie Phillips-Burdge earned a Bachelor of Music (1998) and a Masters of Physical Therapy degree (2010), both from Ithaca College.  She is currently living in Ithaca with her husband and has opened a new private practice, Rhythm Physical Therapy, that collaborates music with physical therapy. 

On October 10th, from 4-5pm in Hockett Family Recital Hall, Ellie will attend a trombone repertoire class led by Dr. Hal Reynolds.  The rep class will feature current music students on trombone playing solo repertoire while she offers helpful tips and words of wisdom on how to be a healthier musician from a physical therapy perspective.  She will also address performance anxiety problems and other physical ailments that can be related to playing an instrument or the voice.  The class is open to anyone that would like to attend.

The SOAR (Strings Off And Running) program, hosted at St. Mary’s School in Cortland,  serves as the lab school setting for Junior string education majors at Ithaca College.  SOAR was recently awarded $1800 in grants for the "Pre-K Experience" Program.

 Asma Barlas, professor and director, Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity, gave one of two keynotes at Hope College's Critical Issues Symposium on "Exploring Islam" this year.  In addition, she conducted a focus session on "Reading Scripture." For the second year in a row, Thomas Kline is excited to represent the Ithaca College School of Music on this year's USA Schools of Music Asian Audition Tour. He is traveling with representatives from other reputable music institutions including Oberlin, Peabody, Boston University, Manhattan School of Music, Eastman and New York University.

Thank you to all that came down to the Blood drive on Tuesday and Wednesday. We had a wonderfull turnout.  Tuesday we had 78 first time donors, and on Wednesday  we had 79. Thank you for being so brave.  Cortland has their drive at the end of the month. As soon as I know the outcome to the challenge I will get the news out.

THANK YOU ALL THAT SHOWED UP AND DONATED THE DAY WAS A FANTASTIC SHOWING FOR THE RED CROSS AND OUR COMMUNITY!!!!!!!

All student organizations must complete these four registration steps by October 14, 2011 to remain active. After this date, your organization will not be able to reserve any venues on campus, advertise on campus, use Ithaca College funds or host events.
