Many individuals on campus help Counseling and Psychological Services' (CAPS) carry out its mission to support the academic success of Ithaca College students.  One way in which individuals contribute is by talking candidly, and publicly, about the importance of seeking mental health services when needed.  We call those who support accessing mental health services Stigma Stompers.

During the 2010 convocation, Greg Woodward demonstrated to all those in attendance what it means to be a Stigma Stomper by publicly encouraging students to seek help when needed.  We commend Greg's role in stomping out the stigma and have designated him Stigma Stomper of the Year (2010-2011).

Submitted on behalf of Provost Kelly:

As you know, Hurricane Irene has caused many flight delays and cancellations. Some of our students are having difficulty getting back to campus on time for the first day of classes. I am asking all faculty to take this into consideration. If a student does not attend on the first day of class it might be the result of an unavoidable travel delay. Students in this situation should be given additional consideration and allowed to remain in the course until at least the second class session. Thank you in advance for your flexibility.
