Is the specter of shelling out $4 a gallon (or more) at the gas pump making you think twice about alternative transportation options for your daily commute to campus? AAA's annual guide called “Your Driving Costs”  estimates that it costs most drivers at least $8,000 a year to own and operate a single occupant vehicle – and that was based on gas costing ~$2.60 a gallon! With that sobering thought in mind, here’s a review of all the programs that Ithaca College underwrites in full or in part to help you get out of your single-occupant vehicle and into a shared ride for your commute to class or work.

IC Pool for Spring Break

The indoor pool will CLOSE Friday March 11th at 1pm for Spring Break.

The indoor pool will be open Monday March 14th through Friday March 18th, 12-1.  Closed Saturday and Sunday March 12th, 13th, and 19th, 20th.

Katharyn Howd Machan, Writing, was awarded second place in The Long Island Poetry Collective's national contest for her poem "Eyes Through the World."

Ash Wednesday

Wednesday, March 9, 2011, is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Mass with the distribution of ashes will be celebrated at 9:00 AM, 12:10 PM and 5:30 PM in Muller Chapel, and at 10:00 AM at Longview. Lent is a time of reflection, repentance and renewal. Please join the Catholic Community as we begin these 40 days of prayer and as we prepare for Holy Week and Easter.

Mu Phi Epsilon is proud to announce a benefit concert for Michaela Bushey, to be held March 25th in Hockett Family Recital Hall in Whalen at 7pm. Currently, Mu Phi Epsilon is looking for faculty and student performers for this concert. We ask that acts be no more than 7 minutes long and be appropriate for the venue, but also something that Michaela would enjoy. Group acts are encouraged.
