Laura was awarded a Sigma Xi Grant-in-Aid of Research to support her honors thesis on movement behavior in chipmunks.  

These grants are open to undergraduate and graduate students.  "The Sigma Xi Grant-in-Aid of Research program has a highly competitive application process and only approximately 20% of applicants receive any level of funding."  

Laura was also the Fall Recipient of the H&S Educational Grant Initiative to support this work.

The work is conducted under the supervision of Leann Kanda.

Timecards Due Early

Due to the College Holiday on Friday, December 24th, all timecards for the pay period December 6 through December 19th must be submitted and approved by the morning of Monday, December 20th.  Any timecards approved after this time will not be paid until the next payroll.  Please contact the Payroll Office at (607) 274-3874 or (607) 274-3133 or email payroll@ithaca.edu with any questions.

Affinity groups are designed to be a safe place where both staff and faculty may speak on common interests and provide an opportunity to seek and support one another.

The Working Parents Affinity Group (WPAG) provides different perspectives on integrating work and our families as working professionals. This group is co-facilitated by two moms who work here on campus and who are interested in developing a resourceful place for other working parents to come together and share with one another based on ideas that you provide!!

The Office of Student Financial Services will be closed on December 15, 2010 from 8:30am until 10:45am so that we may attend a staff meeting. We will be open on Thursday morning, December 16, 2010, but will close from 10:45am until 1:15pm so that we may attend an all campus event. Once again, we are fortunate to offer five awards, each for $1,500. In order to be eligible for these awards, a candidate must be a full-time faculty member who has completed at least one year of employment at Ithaca College and who will be full time (TE or NTEN) during the 2011-2012 academic year. Note that released time is no longer part of the award package.

Joe Bagliere, a Television-Radio major with a concentration in International Communications, was honored during his Semester at Sea program. Bagliere was included as part of Archbishop Desmond Tutu's delegation when Tutu received the Millennium Excellence Award in Ghana in September. Archbishop Tutu is being recognized for his efforts to promote human rights and to eradicate malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV/AIDS in Africa. Bagliere attended the delegation with SAS Academic Dean David Gies and four other students.
