IES Study Abroad Info Session

Are you interested in studying abroad? IES (The Institute for the International Education of Students) is one of Ithaca College's affiliated study abroad providers, and a representative of IES will be on campus on Thursday, March 4 to meet with students and provide further information about the IES study abroad options. A free pizza lunch will be provided!

There will be an informational meeting about the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship on Tuesday, March 2, from 12:10-1:00 in Hill Center 57.  The Gilman International Scholarship Program offers grants for U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies abroad.

Come join members of the NMC Campus Advisory Board for any of the following open and informal discussions of the six technology trends highlighted in the New Media Consortium's 2010 Horizon Report. The Horizon Project's goal is to chart the landscape of emerging technologies for teaching, learning, and creative inquiry. The focus of the discussion will be to brainstorm the implications for Ithaca College now and in the future.

The first discussion is on Mobile Computing on Thursday, March 4,  3:30 – 4:30 pm, facilitated by Mark Hine, (Library Conference Room, 3rd Floor)

It would be helpful if participants read through the section of the report on Mobile Computing.

The open presentation by Dr. Diane Gayeski, finalist for the Park School of Communications Dean, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 2, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm in Emerson A.  The presentation will be followed by a reception.

The members of the First-Year Experience Coordinating Committee, once again, would like to invite all first-year students to attend a series of events designed to highlight the wonderful speakers, films, athletics and performances that happen on our campus all year long!

IC parents are invited to the Wellness Clinic, CHS 302, on Thursday, March 4th from Noon-1pm to learn more about the IC Fit Kids program. IC Fit Kids is an after-school program that provides structured, supervised exercise and lifestyle education to help your children meet whatever goals they may have from general fitness to weight managment to sports performance.  Bring your lunch and learn about this fun, motivating, and affordable program your kids can't miss out on. You can even sign up at the meeting to reserve a  spot.
 

Please join us in the Handwerker Gallery at 4.00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, for "Tea with Palin," the first Tuesday Salon of the semester.  Marty Brownstein, associate professor of Politics, will lead a discussion exploring the impact of Sarah Palin and the Tea Party movement on contemporary politics.
