Patricia Zimmermann, professor of cinema, photography, and media arts, was a featured invited speaker at the international colloquium, Images Amateurs: Valorisation et Manipulation. The colloquium, held January 20-23, 2008, was organized by the Center National de l'audivisuel, in collaboration with the University of Luxembourg, to inaugurate the new national film archive facility in Luxembourg.

The Life and Legacy of Rod Serling, a two-day conference sponsored by the Park School of Communications, will be held March 28 and 29.

Registrations are now being accepted for the event, which will feature presentations of academic papers, panel discussions, screenings, and the results of a nationwide Rod Serling scriptwriting competition.

Thank you to all who donated blood yesterday! We were able to collect 119 regular donations and 28 double-red units for a total of 147 units.

These units will be in hospitals by Friday and will help up to 385 patients.

There has been a very successful ongoing speaker series at Longview, a retirement community located across and up the road from campus, since the facility's partnership with IC began in spring 1999.

There is currently a need for faculty/staff volunteers for these informal monthly talks. The topics can be academic in nature, or related to areas of personal interest. Poetry readings, slide shows, films, and music, dance and dramatic performances are also welcome. An appreciative audience is guaranteed!
