Flutist Kristin Bacchiocchi Stewart and guitarist Joel Brown return to campus for a free recital on Thursday, February 1 at 8:15 in the Hockett Family Recital Hall. Music of Jacques Ibert, Celso Machado, Mauro Giuliani, Astor Piazzolla, and Mario Tedesco is on the program.

The yearlong Ithaca College Concerts season “Extreme Chamber Music” will continue on Friday, February 2 with a concert featuring the Grammy-winning Turtle Island String Quartet and the Assad Brothers Guitar Duo. Titled “String Theory,” the performance will begin at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music. Master classes with both ensembles are slated for 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, in the Hockett Family Recital Hall and Nabenhauer Recital Room.

Open Workshops for Campus

Earlier this month the Office of Marketing Communications (“MarCom”) hosted two sessions each of two workshops, one run by Jill Ahart and JoAnn LaPadula on Using the IC Photo Database and one given by Peter Kilcoyne on Using the Graphics Standards Toolkit. These first four workshops were attended by a total of 40 staff and faculty members from around the school, who gave terrific feedback.

MarCom is planning more workshops throughout the semester, on these topics and several others. Keep an eye out for announcements in Intercom. Space is limited, so please register early.

On January 31, Nicholas Muellner, Department of Cinema and Photography, will deliver a lecture entitled "The Photograph Commands Indifference" at 6.30 p.m. in Gannett 112 in conjunction with the exhibition "Stubborn Things: New Photographic Work by Ron Jude and Nicholas Muellner" currently on display at the Handwerker Gallery.

Senior Housing Intention Forms

Under the Ithaca College Residency policy, any student who has completed 5 semesters as a student by the end of the Fall semester prior to housing selection meets the criteria for Senior Status, and is exempt from the on-campus housing requirement.
