Summer Grants are intended to support post-terminal degree scholarly/creative endeavors. Proposals may be submitted by full-time continuing Ithaca College faculty members and faculty regularly employed on at least a half-time basis. Awards provide $4,187 in compensation for 8 weeks of full-time work. The deadline for submission is 12:00pm on March 26, 2021.

VoiceThread has improved their Assignment feature that allows an instructor to grade student work and pass a grade to the learning management system (Sakai or Canvas). On June 30, 2021 all VoiceThread users will use the new Assignments feature. VoiceThread will be hosting four, free, one-hour workshops to support faculty at all levels of experience with the tool including a dedicated workshop on the new Assignments feature. This past year has been trying for all of us. Join us for a staff/faculty gathering to give and get support from one another. This is meant to be a safe space to share your grief surrounding the pandemic and otherwise, as well as provide the compassionate presence to colleagues who are also coping with grief and loss of all kinds. This gathering is sponsored by the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and will be facilitated by Mandi Zucker, LSW, CT, the Founder and President of Inner Harbor, an organization dedicated to supporting all sorts of grievers.

Collado Faculty Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Ithaca College Community is presented to an Ithaca College faculty member who exemplifies President Collado’s vision of excellence in education. Such excellence is demonstrated through an inclusive approach to educational practices of teaching, research, and/or leadership. Sites of practice include the classroom, the campus, and the community, whether local or global. The President Shirley M. Collado Faculty Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Ithaca College Community is intended to support the professional development of the chosen faculty member to further enhance their capacity for equitable and inclusive leadership in all relevant academic and community areas. This 1.5 hour experiential, interactive workshop will encourage staff and faculty to explore their own history and beliefs about grief. Mandi Zucker Founder and President of Inner Harbor, will examine how our own beliefs effect the way we support others and learn strategies to be present to those who are in pain. There will be time for questions and answers as well.
