Ithaca College's Handwerker Gallery is presenting a photographic installation during March as its second event of the spring semester.
An opening reception for "Putting it Together," a photo installation by Milica Lukic and Miroslav Perkovic, will be held on Thursday, February 27, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Handwerker Gallery. This latest exhibit in the gallery's ongoing Contemporary Art Series will be on display through March 30. The reception and the exhibit are free and open to the public.
"Miroslav Perkovic and Milica Lukic are two artists who make very insistent work," says critic Richard Deacon. "There is a precision to the assembly of their pieces which talks of deliberation and decision. Facts seem important-this space, that depth, this material, that profile."
Lukic and Perkovic both studied in Belgrade in the 1970s and 80s. They have been living and working in Valencia, Spain, since 1995. They have widely exhibited together in Europe, including locations such as the Cite Internationale des Arts in Paris, Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, and Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade.
The gallery is open Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. (Thursday until 9:00 p.m.); Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.; and Sunday, 2:00-6:00 p.m.
