Alumni Teach Minicourse

Contributed by Joanne Hindman on 02/24/03

Stu Katz '83 and Rick Stone '01 recently conducted a minicourse for 15 communication students. The course was sponsored by Ithaca College Television.

Katz is the owner of Elm City Communications in Florham Park, New Jersey, and Stone is a producer at Elm City.

In the course, Medical TV Production, the students learned about types and uses of medical videos, the ethical issues involved, and production considerations. Using clips provided by Stu and Rick, the students wrote and assembled stories in a video editing activity.

In addition, Katz spoke to Julie Boles's class, Cyborgs, Clones, Policy: New Technologies in Health and Medicine, during his visit.
