Pat Griffin is the author of Strong Women, Deep Closets: Lesbians and Homophobia in Sport. She is a professor of social justice education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her teaching and research focuses on addressing sexism, racism, and gender bias in education. She has served as an expert consultant on homophobia and gender bias for the Women's Sports Foundation and is the coeditor of Teaching for Diversity and Social Justice: A Source Book for Teachers and Trainers.
