Home Ownership Made Easy

Contributed by Deborah Merriman on 04/04/03

Are you tired of renting? Do you want the money you pay each month for housing to work for you? Is your family growing and your present residence is becoming a little too 'cozy'? If so, we have just the workshop for you!

Facilitator: Ken Packman,
Homebuyer Education Coordinator/Loan Associate
April 10, 2003
Noon.- 1:00 p.m. (Bring your lunch!)
Administration Annex HR Conference/Training Room

Ken Packman of Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services (INHS) will be presenting a seminar on home ownership. The workshop will provide a snapshot of the home-buying process and provide participants with the information necessary to assess their readiness to engage in that process.

Participants will learn:

  • How to assess financial readiness
  • What financial assistance and educational programs are available
  • Which programs will lend all or most of the closing cost and down payment
  • How to get into programs that substantially reduce a bank's share of the mortgage, increasing loan eligibility.

If you would like more information about this program, please contact Mary Tomaselli (4-1239) or Tanisha Graves (4-3083). Reservations are not necessary. Light refreshments will be available.
