Sara Caswell, one of the most exciting young jazz violinists of our time will give a free noontime concert in the Presser Rehearsal Room in the Whalen Center for Music on Tuesday, April 22. She will also offer a master class on Monday, April 21 at 5:00 in the Hockett Family Recital Hall.

Caswell "is a brilliant world-class violinist…one of the very best of the present generation of emerging young jazz stars" according to David Baker, internationally-renowned jazz educator and director of the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra. Her debut CD, "First Song," has been released on Double Time Records. She has performed in various settings, from jazz festivals to the New York Pops with Skitch Henderson to the "4 Generations of Jazz Violin Tour."
