Study Abroad Discussion

International education is becoming increasingly important for undergraduates. This discussion session will focus on the benefits of study abroad, and the many reasons to do it. While study abroad opportunities at Ithaca College will be reviewed, this is not just another information session. This is intended to be a candid discussion of international education today, in 2003. Students, faculty and staff are welcome!

Other topics of discussion will include:

  • Studying abroad in 2003: How does the war with Iraq and SARS impact international education?
  • Speaking English abroad vs. learning another language: are both experiences equally valuable?
  • The gender imbalance in study abroad: did you know that less than 35% of undergraduates who study abroad are men?
  • Underrepresented groups in study abroad: how can we make study abroad possible for everyone?
