John Rosenbaum, associate professor in the TV-R department, was elected to the executive council of the European Communication Association at its 2003 congress in Munich.

He also completed his third year as a regional visiting scholar at Cornell University's Institute for European Studies.

Rosenbaum's paper "Under Pressure in the Danger Zone" received the second place award for international papers presented at the Broadcast Education Association's 2003 convention in Las Vegas. His paper "In the EU's Image" was one of the top three international papers selected for presentation at the International Communication Association's 2003 convention. "A Cyborg for Research in Central and Eastern Europe" was selected for presentation at the International Studies Association's 2003 convention.
