Ithaca College placed 24th out of 83 scoring teams at the NCAA championships held at St. Lawrence over the weekend.
Two Ithaca athletes earned all-America honors (awarded to the top eight finishers in each event): senior Lynn Janovich in the 800-meter run and freshman Meghan Morningstar in the high jump. On Saturday, Janovich placed second in the 800-meter run, breaking her own school record with a time of 2:10.45. She earned all-America honors for the fourth time in her career. Morningstar also earned all-America honors on Saturday; she tied for seventh in the high jump, clearing 1.62 meters. Ithaca's third competitor on Saturday, junior Amanda Laytham, took 12th in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:52.46.
In Friday's preliminaries of the 800-meter run, Janovich won her heat in a time of 2:12.26 and advanced to Saturday's final. Also on Friday, Laytham placed 12th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase final in a time of 11:06.60.
On Thursday, in the preliminaries of the 1,500-meter run, Laytham placed second in her heat with a time of 4:35.62. Junior Kristen Cravotta also competed in the preliminaries of the 1,500-meter run, placing 10th in her heat with a time of 5:03.35.
In Thursday's finals of the 10,000-meter run, senior Erin Boshe placed 18th with a time of 37:29.87.
