Public Safety Patrol Officer William Kerry was one of 12 local police officers who recently traveled to Albany to compete in the New York State Police Olympics Softball Tournament.

A team consisting of officers from the Ithaca Police Department, the Tompkins County Sheriff's Office, the Dryden Police Department and the Ithaca College Office of Public Safety captured a silver medal in the nine-team tournament. After being undefeated throughout the tournament, they beat NYPD to advance to the gold medal round, where they lost to the Nassau Police Department.
