Three Park School students and Park distinguished chair and professor Christopher Harper spent one month at Rostov State University in June and July for the first of three summer institutes for junior faculty and journalists.

The institute included nine Russians and nine Americans, including Park School students -- Jessica McCoy '06, Elizabeth Crowley '04, and Joe Geraghty '04.

The Russian-American Journalism Institute is a three-year program funded by the U.S. Department of State. The joint program with New York University and Rostov State University in Rostov, Russia, is intended to outline U.S. journalistic approaches for professionals and educators. Under the $244,000 grant, nine Russian faculty will attend Ithaca College for one semester over the next three years. Five faculty members came in spring 2003. Two more will come in fall 2003 with two more in 2004. The program also includes a summer institute at Rostov.
