Communication and Cancer

The 2003 Health Communication Scholar in Residence, Gary Kreps, PhD, Chief of the Health Communication and Informatics Research Branch of the National Cancer Institute will participate in events on campus on October 9-10.

Kreps will deliver a public presentation entitled "The Role of Communication in Cancer Prevention, Control, and Care" on Thursday, October 9, at 7:00 p.m. in Klingenstein Lounge.

He will also participate in two master classes for students:
  • Thursday, October 9, 2:30-4:00 p.m. in Hill Center 57: "Communication Innovations in Public Health"
  • Friday, October 10, 10:00-11:30 a.m. in Clark Lounge: "Health, Communication, and New Media."

Kreps will also lead an informal discussion with clinicians, educators, caregivers, administrators, and other interested community members on "Research Developments in Communication and Cancer" on Friday, October 10 at 3:00 p.m. at Hospicare.
