Faculty and students are invited to attend selected workshops and keynote addresses at the upcoming conference, "Literacy in a Media Age" The conference will be held October 16-17 here at Ithaca College and will be free of charge.

Workshops of general interest include: Critical Thinking and the News; Judging Credibility on the Internet; Movie Mentors: Teaching and Learning with Film; and Visual Literacy (including "Subliminal" Messages).

Thursday evening's keynote address by internationally acclaimed speaker David Considine, "The New Basic: Media Literacy, from Classroom to Living Room," is free and open to the general public.
