Kelli B. Grant '04 was recently awarded third place in the in-depth reporting category in the Society of Professional Journalists' national Mark of Excellence competition for her package of stories on eating disorders, "Finding a Healthy Balance."

The stories appeared in the October 24, 2002, issue of the Ithacan. The award was announced at SPJ's national convention in Tampa, Florida, in September.

Ithacan assistant accent editor Elizabeth Quill '06, has been awarded third place in the diversity category in the 2003 Associated Collegiate Press/Los Angeles Times Story of the Year awards. There were 672 entries in this national competition, which was judged by a panel at the Los Angeles Times. The story appeared in the April 17, 2003, edition of the paper. The award will be presented at the 82nd annual College Media Convention in Dallas next month.
