Contributed by Craig Duncan on 10/29/03

On Wednesday, November 5, at 8:00 p.m. in the Klingenstein Lounge, there will be a talk and discussion, "Buddhist Ideas of Happiness and Reincarnation."

The principal speaker will be Geshe Tenzin Sherap, holder of the Geshe Lharampa degree from Ganden Jangtse College and resident monk at Ganden Jangtse Monastery (Mundgod, India).

Geshe Tenzin Sherap will speak in Tibetan. Tenzin Thutop, resident Buddhist monk at Ithaca's Namgyal Monastery Institute of Buddhist Studies, will translate into English.

The Geshe Lharampa degree is the Buddhist equivalent of the Ph.D. Geshe Tenzin Sherap is a visiting scholar and monk on a short trip to Ithaca.

The talk is sponsored by the Ithaca College Philosophy Club, a student-run club that aims to promote philosophical discussion on campus. The talk is free and open to the public. All interested persons are encouraged to attend this unique event.
