Ithaca College

The following IC students participated in the 56th annual meeting of the New York Ornithological Association in Chautauqua, New York, in fall 2003.

• Ethan Kinsey (biology 2004, coauthored with John Confer) presented a paper on "A Comparison of Bird Atlases in Tanzania and New York."
• Tim Hauck (environmental studies 2004, coauthored with John Confer ) presented on "The Avian Response to Experimental Manipulation of shrubland Habitat."
• Elizabeth Silvia (environmental studies 2004) and Vince Frary (biology 2004) also attended the meeting.

In addition, Karen Allaben-Confer (biology 1970) received formal acknowledgment for her ornithological art.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Office of the Dean of Humanities and Sciences, and donors to the environmental studies program supported travel.
