This past summer, incoming freshmen participated in the Freshman Summer Reading Initiative. This event introduced them to the Ithaca College community of learners and offered them a shared academic experience that included students, faculty, and staff. (See "Book Binding" in the President's Corner of the Ithaca College Quarterly for more information about the initiative.) The initiative was an overwhelming success. As a result, many employees across campus have requested a discussion session for staff. On Tuesday, January 13, noon-1:30 p.m. in the Emerson Suites, we are offering you the chance to do this. Even if you participated in the program this summer, your thoughts are welcome. Reservations are required for planning purposes, and a light lunch will be provided. Also, if you facilitated a discussion group and would like to do it for your coworkers, please contact Mary Tomaselli or Tanisha Graves by calling 274-3083 or e-mailing ngraves@ithaca.edu. Copies of The Color of Water are available and discussion questions will be provided. Contributed by Mary Tomaselli |
