Conversations at the Center

Contributed by Teresa Michel on 11/24/03

The Center for Teacher Education invites you to "Conversations at the Center" on Tuesday, December 2, 4:00-5:30 p.m. in the Klingenstein Lounge.

Our guest will be Sue Books, chair of the Department of Secondary Education at SUNY New Paltz, whose talk is titled "No Child Left Behind and the Schooling of Poor Children." There will be a question/answer period after her talk.

Professor Books teaches courses in the social foundations of education. She is the editor of Invisible Children in the Society and Its Schools (1998/2003), as well as the author of a new book, Education and Poverty: Contexts and Consequences, to be published in 2004.

This event is free and open to the public.
