The Center for Life Skills -- a program developed by Ithaca College to help individuals who have experienced a stroke or other neurological disorders -- will host an open house from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Friday, December 12.
Family and friends, as well as community members interested in learning more about the Center for Life Skills, are invited to meet with the staff and faculty of the program, which is housed on the second floor at Longview on Bella Vista Drive. Please join us for refreshments and holiday cheer.
Developed through the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance, the Center for Life Skills is intended for individuals who have been discharged from a formal rehabilitative program but need continued therapy to improve the quality of their everyday life. It features a highly individualized goal-setting program provided by Ithaca College faculty and students from a variety of allied health disciplines, including occupational therapy, physical therapy, therapeutic recreation, and speech-language pathology.
The center is now accepting applications for its spring session, consisting of two and a half days of therapy per week beginning January 26 and running through April 30. There is a fee for the service.
