The Ithaca College Emergency Relief Fund helps individuals and families who have emergency financial needs. Sometimes the very things that many of us take for granted pose a hardship for others, such as the cost of unexpected car repairs, medical expenses, co-pays and deductibles, unplanned family care expenses when there are cancellations and school closings, advance deposits for childcare, heating fuel . . . and the list goes on and on.

It may be hard to imagine what it is like to experience these kinds of needs, but for those of us who have, they can leave one feeling vulnerable. This is why the Ithaca College Emergency Relief Fund needs your help

The fund is supported totally by donations and is administered by the Office of the Chaplains. It was created by the Ithaca College Interfaith Council to assist students, faculty, and staff who need immediate, short-term financial assistance. Every year since its inception, the fund has been able to help meet those needs. Any IC community member can request emergency assistance by contacting the Office of the Chaplains. Each request is reviewed by the chaplains and decisions are made on a case-by-case basis. All requests are kept confidential.

Your donation will go directly into the fund and every penny is used to assist IC community members when they have emergency needs. If you can give $5, $10, $15 or $20 to help a fellow IC community member, you can be assured it will be appreciated. Checks should be made payable to Ithaca College Emergency Relief Fund and mailed to Emergency Relief Fund, Alumni Hall, Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY 14850.

It has been heartwarming to see the response during previous fund drives and even more heartwarming, to see the smiles of people have been helped. We hope you will support the Emergency Relief Fund.

Sincerely,

Michael Faber, Hillel Director and Jewish Chaplain
Mary Humenay, Catholic Chaplain
Fr. Scott Kubinski, Catholic Chaplain
Rev. Allison Stokes, Protestant Chaplain
Mary Ellen Hawker, Administrative Assistant to the Chaplains
