It is with a great deal of sadness that I must inform the Ithaca College community of the death of one of our students. Erika Watson, a senior from Middletown, Connecticut, majoring in art in the School of Humanities and Sciences, was killed in an automobile accident on Saturday morning. The accident occurred on Route 13 in Dryden.
I know that the entire College community joins with me in extending our deepest condolences to Erika's family, friends, and classmates for their tragic loss. Counseling services for those members of the College community who may need assistance are available through the Counseling Center at 274-3136 and through the College chaplains.
Calling hours for Erika will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23, at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield, Connecticut. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, at the Third Congregational Church, 94 Miner St., in Middletown. Burial will be private.
An on-campus service to celebrate Erika's life will also be held; details will be announced when those plans are finalized.
