Simon Tarr Named Chair of AIVF

Assistant professor of Cinema and Photography Simon Tarr has been named chair of the board of directors of the Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers (AIVF).

AIVF is a 30-year-old national association based in New York City providing support to individual media artists and producers. Established by a group of independent filmmakers, AIVF is the largest national organization representing independent media artists working at all levels across all genres.

The organization publishes "The Independent Film and Video Monthly," organizes media advocacy campaigns, and hosts 80 programs per year for independent media makers.
