Trumpeter Kim Dunnick, saxophonist Steven Mauk, and pianist Diane Birr -- three faculty members at the Ithaca College School of Music -- will team up to bring a free evening of Russian music on Tuesday, January 27. The performance will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music.

During two recent tours of Russia, Mauk and Dunnick gave instruction on their instruments and performed music of the West, most of it by American composers. During their travels they also heard a lot of Russian music that was either unknown or unavailable in the West. This recital will feature selections from that newly discovered music, including original compositions and transcriptions.

More information on concerts can be found at the website of the School of Music.
