Library staff will offer three research workshops during the month of January. Each 50-minute workshop will be held in the library's Instructional Classroom (Room 319) and is open to students, faculty, and staff. No experience is necessary -- if you have research questions, please bring them.

Advanced Research on Teaching and Learning with ERIC.
Thursday, January 29 - Noon

The Educational Resource Information Center (ERIC) system acquires, analyzes, and provides access to high-quality research and effective, practical teaching materials at all educational levels. The ERIC database is an essential resource for undergraduate and graduate teacher education students and faculty. ERIC access tools will be reviewed and demonstrated using sample research topics.

Learn the tricks to know and traps to avoid in navigating the actual and virtual library -- getting the most out of simple and advanced searching in the online catalog; coping with print and electronic materials on reserve; using interlibrary loan to acquire books and articles from other libraries; finding newspaper, magazine, and journal resources; and selecting the best databases for your research.
