The ALANA Careers in Education Program is holding "Conscience, Courage, and Heart: Getting Involved to Make a Change," a conversation with Aqeela Shakur, social and multicultural liaison at Ithaca High School, on Tuesday, January 27, 2004, at 6:00 p.m. in the Campus Center conference room.

Come join the discussion of important issues in education with an experienced and respected Ithaca educator and activist. OMA students attending this event may also sign up for volunteer or job-shadowing placements with professionals and youths in local schools and agencies.

Pizza, salad, drinks, and dessert will be served. Staff and faculty are encouraged to tell students who might be interested.

This event is sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Center for Teacher Education.
