Tenor Shawn Puller and pianist Read Gainsford will give a faculty recital, "Songs of Love: Music for Tenor and Solo Piano," at Ithaca College on Friday, February 13, 2004. The free concert will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music. The program will offer love songs by Beethoven, Britten, and Ithaca composer Sally Lamb.

A lecturer in the School of Music, Puller also teaches voice at SUNY Cortland and Cornell University. He presently serves as director of development and concert manager for the Heifitz International Music Institute, a cross-disciplinary music training program in Wolfesboro, New Hampshire.

Gainsford, an assistant professor of music performance, has performed widely in the United States, Europe, Australia, South Africa, and his native New Zealand. He has made successful solo debuts at Wigmore Hall and Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall. He has performed in many other venues, including Queen Elizabeth Hall, Barbican Centre, Fairfield Halls, Birmingham Town Hall, and St. Martin-in-the-Fields. He also has recorded for the Amoris label, BBC Radio Three, and Radio New Zealand's Concert Programme and has broadcast on national television in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and Yugoslavia.
