Paige Morgan and Conrad Alexander to Give Faculty RecitalContributed by Erik Kibelsbeck on 02/23/04 Oboist and English horn player Paige Morgan and percussionist Conrad Alexander will give a free faculty recital at Ithaca College on Sunday, February 29. The performance will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music. John White will join the duo on piano.
An assistant professor of music performance in the School of Music, Morgan also teaches at the Brevard Music Center. She performs with the Ithaca-based contemporary music group Ensemble X and the Garth Newel Chamber Music Festival. She was formerly the principal oboist with the Charlottesville Symphony Orchestra and the Midland/Odessa Symphony. Alexander, adjunct assistant professor in the School of Music, also teaches at the Brevard Music Center. A performer with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra and Ensemble X, he is a founding member of the Los Pioneros, a percussion ensemble specializing in Cuban and Haitian ceremonial drumming. The Ithaca College School of Music offers some 300 free concerts each academic year.
