Flutist Kelly Covert, a lecturer in music performance in the School of Music, will give a free faculty recital on Tuesday, March 16, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall in the Whalen Center.

The program will include two works for unaccompanied flute -- Bach's Partita in A minor and a contemporary work by Korde, Tenderness of Cranes. Covert will be joined by pianist Charis Dimaras for a sonatine by Rivier and Souvenirs for Piccolo and Piano by Robert Beaser, this year's Karel Husa Visiting Professor of Composition at Ithaca College.

Covert performs with the Oswego Trio, Oswego Opera Theater, and Society for New Music in Syracuse. She also teaches at State University College at Oswego and the Liverpool Summer School of the Arts.

Dimaras has frequently performed as soloist with orchestras as well as in solo and chamber music concerts throughout Europe and the United States. He has appeared with the Greek National Symphony Orchestra, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, and MAV Hungarian Symphony Orchestra.
