Kunyoung Kim, an assistant professor of music performance at Ithaca College, will give a free piano recital on Monday, March 22. The performance will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Ford Hall in the Whalen Center.

The program will include two Scarlatti sonatas, Brahms' sonata opus 118, and a pair of Chopin nocturnes, one of which was featured prominently in the movie The Pianist.

Kim has performed at the National Symphony Orchestra Summer Mozart Festival at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Russian Federal Orchestra at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, and International Workshops in Graz, Austria.

Prior to her appointment at Ithaca, Kim taught at the State University of New York College at Potsdam. She earned her doctorate in piano performance at the Eastman School of Music and her master's degree from the University of Maryland. She did postgraduate work at the Moscow Conservatory.
