The Ithaca College Jazz Workshop, directed by Steve Brown, will give a free concert on Friday, April 2.

The performance will begin at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall in the James J. Whalen Center for Music. Trumpeter Walter White will be the guest soloist.

White leads the Wednesday night jazz workshop big band at Ithaca College. He has toured Japan with the Manhattan Jazz Orchestra, Dave Matthews and the Super Latin Jazz Orchestra, and the Toshiko Akioshi/ Lew Tabackin Big Band.

White has also toured and recorded with trumpeting legend Maynard Ferguson. White is featured on the CD Live from London, playing "The Fox Hunt," a sizzling duet with Ferguson. White's playing has graced the sound tracks of movies and television, including Taxi and The Cosby Show.
