How can we make our schools safer for all students, including those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender?
Come join us for a presentation on issues of sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression in the New York State Dignity for All Students Act (DASA). The Dignity bill, which is currently pending in the state legislature, would prohibit discrimination and harassment in public schools throughout the state based on actual or perceived race, national origin, ethnic group, religion, sexual orientation, gender, sex, or physical or mental disability.
Featured will be special guest Pat Pryor, former Ithaca City councilperson, and speakers from the national Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) and the statewide New York Association for Gender Rights Advocacy (NYAGRA). The event will be held in the Campus Center Pub from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31.
The event is sponsored by GLSEN, NYAGRA, and the Office of Multicultural Affairs Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Education, Outreach, and Services.
