Michael Malpass, anthropology, co-organized a symposium on "Marginal Provinces in the Inka Empire: Toward a Better Understanding of Inka Imperialism."

The event was part of the annual meeting of the Society for American Archaeology, held in Montreal April 1-4. He also served as chair of the symposium and a discussant. He presented a paper, entitled, "Introduction to Provincial Inka Studies in the 21st Century," which served as an introduction to the 13 papers that followed.
