Patricia R. Zimmermann, professor of Cinema and Photography (Park) and coordinator for Culture and Communication (DIIS), has been named the Ida Beam Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Iowa for spring 2005.

The Ida Beam Distinguished Professorship is the highest distinction the University of Iowa confers on a visiting scholar.

As part of this professorship, Zimmermann will be in residence at the University of Iowa for one week in March 2005. She will deliver two public lectures, participate in an international conference entitled "Interventionist Collage," and meet with undergraduate and graduate students in cinema and comparative literature. Her lectures for the professorship are "Public Spheres: Interfaces, Intervals, Intermedia, Interventions," and "The Digital Archive: Recombinant Histories of the Future."
