Cornell University has extended an invitation to members of the Ithaca College community to attend an address on Saturday, September 11, by CNN anchor Aaron Brown. His talk, "On Being Part of History: 9/11 and the Election," will be held at 7:00 p.m. in Statler Auditorium.

The event is free and open to the public, with seating on a first-come, first-served basis.

September 11, 2001, happened to be Brown's first day as the network's news anchor. Less than an hour after the first terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, he began covering the event from a New York City rooftop. In his talk, Brown will discuss his role as a central news figure during the 9/11 crisis, how 9/11 will affect the upcoming national elections, and CNN's responsibility to provide balanced and accurate news coverage.

Brown has previously served with ABC News as a reporter for World News Tonight and Nightline and as anchor for World News Tonight Saturday.

Faculty members are encouraged to make their students aware of this opportunity.
