The first Tuesday of every month throughout the semester, the Ithacan will host an informal discussion series for students, faculty, and staff to examine issues in the media.

The first installment, to be held today, October 4, will be "Dan Rather vs. the Bloggers." It will focus on the role bloggers played in the exposure of CBS's use of unauthenticated memos concerning President Bush's National Guard service, as well as the wider role of online bloggers in journalism.

All sessions will take place in Park 220 at noon. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch.

November's session, will be held on Election Day, November 2, and will focus on the media's coverage of the election.
