The Ithaca College Wind Ensemble, under the baton of Stephen Peterson, will perform at 8:15 pm Tuesday, October 12, in Ford Hall.

The free concert features music of Persichetti, Massanet, Husa, Tcherepin, and Daugherty.

The work by Michael Daugherty, who was a the Karel Husa Visiting Professor of Composition at Ithaca College recently, is entitled Niagara Falls, and depicts both the natural wonder and the human activity surrounding Niagara Falls. The composer calls it "...a ten-minute musical ride over the Niagara River with an occasional stop at a haunted house or wax museum along the way. Its principal musical motive is a haunting phrase corresponding to the syllables of Niagara Falls, and repeated in increasingly gothic proportions."
