The Center for Natural Sciences (CNS) building has now reopened. Classes and other activities in the building will resume as of 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7.
The building had been closed following a small chemical spill this morning in a chemistry laboratory. While that laboratory, room 374, will remain closed pending completion of an investigation and cleanup, the rest of the building is safe for re-entry.
For those who were in the building at the time it was evacuated and left behind personal belongings, the Office of Public Safety has gathered those belongings for safekeeping. They may be picked up in CNS room 161 until 5:00 p.m. today, and again beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Anyone needing emergency assistance to collect belongings (for medications, e.g.) between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. should contact the Office of Public Safety at 274-3333.
