Barney Beins presented the opening keynote address at the tenth Northeastern Conference for Teachers of Psychology, which was held on October 14 at Rhode Island College in Providence.

His talk was entitled "Psychology as a liberal art: Other disciplines can be interesting, too." This conference was held as part of the annual convention of the New England Psychological Association.
