IC Parades to the Polls

Contributed by David Maley on 11/03/04

Ithaca College's voter registration and education efforts -- which began during summer orientation and extended through the fall campaign season -- culminated in a "parade to the poll" on Election Day.

Members of the College community met at the "free speech rock" outside the Campus Center, then joined President Peggy R. Williams and the Ithaca College Fife and Drum Corps on a march to the South Hill fire station polling location.

The College also used "voter vans" throughout the day to shuttle campus voters to the polls.

The activities were sponsored by the College's Voter Registration and Education Committee to demonstrate the commitment to the democratic process and the power of the student vote.
