Ithaca College's Jazz Workshop, a big band jazz ensemble, will give a free concert under the leadership of music director Steve Brown on Friday, December 3, at 8:15 p.m. in Ford Hall.

Guest trumpet soloist will be Jeff Jarvis. The program includes music of Ray Brown, Steve Brown, Miles Davis, Victor Feldman, and Bill Holman.

Guest trumpeters Jeff Jarvis is listed in Who's Who in Entertainment, and has distinguished himself as a multifaceted music industry professional. His solo recordings as a jazz trumpeter and composer have placed high on national airplay charts and have won him critical acclaim. He is frequently commissioned to compose for various school, military and professional musical groups. Jarvis serves as music director of the Central New York Jazz Orchestra, and is an adjunct faculty member at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He is also CEO of Kendor Music, the first educational music publisher to provide jazz charts written especially for students.
