The first spring colloquium promises to be a very informative event. Lis Maurer, coordinator of the LBGT Resources Center, presents "Out for Info - An update on state and federal legislation and policy issues regarding LGBT people."
The talk will be on Thursday, January 27, 12:10-1:00 pm, in the Clark Lounge of the Campus Center. You are welcome to bring your lunch; coffee and snacks will be provided. Lis Maurer's talks have been consistently informative and well-attended. Her description follows:
Which states provide non-discrimination legislation? How does that affect one's state/federal rights and responsibilities? What about marriage or civil unions? What is the status of recent anti-LGBT ballot measures? Come to this session for an overview of the complex and quickly changing landscape.
Also.....the Center for Faculty Excellence is now back in operation! The CFE is a virtual center staffed by a faculty member on a half-time sabbatical, and so, when the web page was not functioning while she was on vacation, maybe it did not exist. But, the center is back on line, Center for Faculty Excellence. Please propose a presentation for the spring series. Open dates are indicated at Spring 2005 Colloquium Series.
Coming up: "Personality Type in Everyday Life", to be held Monday, February 7, from 4:00 to 6:40 pm. The scholarships for this special workshop by Signe Kastberg are filled, but you may still register and pay the fee yourself. For more information, see Welcome to the Spring Semester or contact Signe Kastberg.
